Roae Invites Gun Owners to Concealed Carry Seminar
1/21/2016
MEADVILLE – State Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) is inviting local gun owners to attend a seminar on Thursday, Feb. 4, at the Lew Davies Community Building where they can learn about the rights and responsibilities that accompany a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

“This is an important informational event for gun owners in our area,” Roae said.

There is no cost to attend the event which will last from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Space is limited and residents who wish to attend are asked to RSVP by calling Roae’s office at 814-336-1136.

Residents must be at least 21 years old to obtain a concealed carry permit in Pennsylvania.

The seminar will provide information about the process to acquire a concealed carry permit, the regularity with which the permit needs to be renewed and the circumstances under which a permit may be revoked. Pennsylvania’s Castle Doctrine also will be discussed.

The seminar also will cover safety suggestions about what gun owners who are carrying a concealed weapon should do when they come in contact with a member of law enforcement.

“The right to own a gun is guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution and in the Pennsylvania Constitution,” Roae said. “This seminar will explain some of the ways people in our area can exercise their gun rights.”

Crawford County Sheriff Nick Hoke and Crawford County District Attorney Francis Schultz will make presentations at the seminar.

The Lew Davies Community Building is located at 1034 Park Ave. in Meadville.
