Pennsylvania Farm Show Draws Visitors to Commonwealth
1/4/2014
QUESTION: Can you tell me about the Pennsylvania Farm Show?

ANSWER: The 2014 Pennsylvania Farm Show is scheduled for Jan. 4-11 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultural exhibition in the United States. The eight-day show will feature 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibitors.

Admission is free, but there is a $10 charge for parking and shuttle service.

The theme for the 2014 show is “Pennsylvania Farms: Growing For You.”

New attractions for this year’s show include a free concert by country music artist and Pennsylvania native Ben Gallaher, an appearance by celebrity chef Nadia G., a “Christmas in January” tree display highlighting the nearly 1,600 tree farms in the Commonwealth and new food court items.

Interactive online tools can help visitors to the 2014 Pennsylvania Farm Show navigate the show’s more than 24 acres and nearly 250 events and activities. An interactive map and scheduling tool as well as a mobile app are now available at www.farmshow.state.pa.us.

The free mobile app can be used on any mobile device or smart phone and includes all the capabilities of the online tool.

Agriculture played an important role in Pennsylvania’s past and will continue to be an instrumental part of our Commonwealth in the future. Generations of Pennsylvanians have lived as farmers, toiling to harvest crops, raise animals and earn an honest living.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show helps to remind residents about the proud history of farming and the impact it has on our greater society.

From the good food available to the opportunities to learn new things, the Pennsylvania Farm Show is a great attraction for families and Pennsylvanians of all ages.
