Roae Announces Grants to Replace Waterlines
MEADVILLE – State Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) announced a combined $150,000 in Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program grant funding has been approved to replace aging waterlines.

“The grants will aid local governments in funding two important projects that will ensure residents continue to receive fresh water to their homes,” Roae said. “Updating existing infrastructure is of the utmost importance. I applaud the Commonwealth Financing Authority for seeing the merits of this project.”

Project details are:

• Cambridge Springs received $80,00 in funding to install 900 linear feet of new 8-inch waterline along High Street and Pleasant Street to replace the 4-inch line currently in use.
• Meadville Area Water Authority received a $70,000 grant to replace 2,800 linear feet of a 6-inch waterline with new 8-inch pipe along Bessemer Street.

Grant funding is through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Pennsylvania Small Water and Sewer Program, which offers grants for small water and sewer infrastructure projects and can be used to assist with the construction, improvement, expansion, or rehabilitation or repair of a water supply or sanitary sewer system.
