Roae Recognized for Commitment to Service

Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) recently was recognized for his commitment to serving the residents of the 6th Legislative District. Roae attended each and every voting House session day during the 2015-16 session and has missed only one session day since he took office in 2007. |
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) recently received a certificate recognizing his commitment to representing the residents of the 6th Legislative District by attending each and every voting day in the state House during the 2015-16 session.
“I take very seriously my responsibility to represent the people in our district,” Roae said. “When I go to work, there are approximately 64,000 people in our district who have an opportunity to have their views and opinions heard through the legislative process.”
Roae, who first took office in 2007, only has missed one voting session day in the state House in Harrisburg. He was absent that day because he traveled to Washington, D.C., to petition the federal government on behalf of the residents of his district.
“On the one voting day I missed, I was still working on behalf of the people in our district,” Roae said. “My commitment to showing up is just a representation of the blue-collar work ethic that is throughout our district. People in Erie and Crawford counties go to work every day and they expect their state representative to do the same.”
It is not uncommon for a state representative to miss one or more voting session days during a two-year session due to illness, deaths in their family or other serious medical or life situations.
Roae received a certificate from House Republican Whip Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster), who is responsible for, among other things, tracking session attendance among members of the House Republican Caucus.
