New State Budget Irresponsible, Roae Says
HARRISBURG — Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) issued the following statement in response to the $45.55 billion Fiscal Year 2023-24 budget that the House passed this evening:

“I voted NO because the budget spends more than what the state will collect in taxes. We should be fighting over how to spend the tax money that will be coming in and that’s all we should spend. Spending from the reserves when the unemployment rate is only 4% is stupid. We need reserves to fall back on when the next multi-year recession comes, unemployment rate is at 10% and tax revenues have tanked.”
