Roae Announces Million-Dollar State Investment in Crawford County
MEADVILLE – State Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) today announced more than $1 million has been awarded to Meadville Medical Center for a project in Vernon Township.

“I continue to fight for local residents’ fair share of state funding for important projects in our area,” Roae said. “I’m pleased to announce this funding and look forward to the positive impact it will have in our community.”

Meadville Medical Center’s Vernon Place Job Generator has been awarded a $1.089 million grant for the second phase of the project.

The second phase will include new site and construction improvements on the same multi-use site as the first phase. It also entails excavation; removal of debris; site grading, and construction of internal site access roadways, water and sanitary sewer infrastructure and storm-water management facilities. The project also calls for site landscaping and lighting.

Project funding is being made available through the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act, have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues or other measures of economic activity. RACP projects are state-funded projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
