VFW Official Can Help Veterans
8/16/2014
QUESTION: As a military veteran, where can I learn about programs and services tailored to meet my unique needs?

ANSWER: I would first like to thank you and every other military veteran for serving to defend our nation. Please know that your country, commonwealth and community appreciate your service.

Veterans who spent time overseas fighting for our nation sometimes come home and spend weeks, months or even years fighting bureaucratic red tape to access their benefits.

There are programs and services that have been developed specifically to help American military veterans. However, many veterans may be unaware of the programs available to them or how to access these resources.

In an effort to help veterans, an official from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) will be at our Titusville office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, to help military veterans access programs and services developed for them.

Randy Gray, assistant department service officer with the VFW, will be at our office to meet with, talk to and answer questions from local veterans.

While appointments are not mandatory, veterans can call Gray at 814-835-8494 if they would like to schedule a meeting at a particular time. Walk-in visitors will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

Veterans do not have to be a member of the VFW to take advantage of this service.

Our Titusville office is located at 109 S. Washington St. in the Park Building.

If you cannot make it to the office on Sept. 3, we will invite Randy to host similar office hours in the future. When we plan additional dates, we send out news releases, which you can access by visiting my website at RepRoae.com.

You also can check this newspaper, as the announcements often are published here as well.

It is my hope that this service will help more veterans take advantage of the opportunities available to help them and their families.
